Meta Joutras lives with her husband in Northfield, Illinois. She enjoys painting daily with three fellow artists at Tree Top Studio in Hubbard Woods, Illinois. Meta has always enjoyed midwestern landscapes as her subject matter. For many years now she has spent her summers on Glen Lake near Traverse City Michigan. Here she has been inspired by the farm land, magestic sand dunes, and the crystal blues waters of Lake Michigan and Glen Lake for much of her subject matter. She hopes that the serenity and magic of something so simple as a beautiful white cloud rising over a soft gold field will give her viewer the same sense of inspiration it has always given her. Most resently she has begun showing her work at Main Street Gallery Leland, Michigan and was a featured artist at Tucker Gallery Evanston, Illinois. She would be happy to share other accomplishments, including an international award from the Colored Pencil Society of America, upon request.
